I've been thinking a lot about what success means when it comes to photography. Then I found this little F-Stoppers video that is really interesting. It also has a quote that I love. The abridged version is... "You have to be working until all hours of the night. If you're not working late, someone else will be and they'll take your jobs." (go here to jump right to that quote in the video)
Story Telling: Iran
One of our athletes in Iran hired a crew and had them shoot video of what it's like to be a body builder in Iran. They sent me the footage and I edited it to tell the story. Pretty interesting to see how simple things translate to different parts of the world.
Storytelling - Brock
So a lot of what I'm working on right now is for a series called "True Strength". It's athletes who are at the top of their field, most are bodybuilders or physique athletes. But in addition to that, they've had moments where they've had tough decisions to make or health issues or something else and they've shown their True Strength (get it) to make it through. Here's Brock's story...
Storytelling
One of the things I love the most about some of the job changes I've made in the past few years is that with every place I go, I get to do more storytelling. Sure, there's still marketing videos or random events. But I really get to work on some great projects where I get to do more than sell someone on something, I get to let people tell their stories about things the love or don't love in their life. So, for the next few days I'm going to post some of those stories on here. Starting with one this afternoon. Keep an eye out for it.
